Wrangell, Alaska

Day 23 June 13, 2008

We all are sleeping great. I woke up at 4am to daylight and hoping to see a bear on the shore took a peak outside. No bear but it was beautiful so of course I took a picture. There was a fine mist in the air and John said at 6am the fog had set in. I slept until 7am and then slowly got up and around.

We slipped lines from Saoirse and lifted anchor around 9am with cloudy skies but no fog heading to Wrangell to meet up with Code Blue. We have cloudy skies, calm seas but no rain!! We will take it!

It is 146.7 miles from Wrangell to Juneau.

We arrived into Wrangell around 12:15 today. It was predicted to rain but the sun came out as Diane has said it has done, whenever we arrived at our day’s destination. Amazing. We had lunch on board our boats and put on our walking shoes, checked in and walked around. We spent quite a bit of time at the museum which is a must see. Very interesting.

Gosh, we returned to the Omega and Saoirse and checked over the charts and gosh, we are tired yet again. Must be the fresh air.

We looked over the charts for Wrangell Narrows to Petersburg, met up with Steve and Judy, Code Blue and also later with Don and Diane, Saoirse to make plans for tomorrow. We decided to leave tomorrow and return to Wrangell on our way south. Weather again sounds good so away we go!!
