Prince Rupert, British Columbia

Day 16 June 6, 2008

We left at 6:45 this morning and arrived in Prince Rupert at 12:45.

The journey was good except for around 30 minutes on Marcus channel and the seas were very confused so we had some rocking and rolling for a while.

After arriving in Prince Rupert, BC, Diane, Judy and I took a walk after arriving in Prince Rupert, since John and Don were going to change the oil; it was easier if we were not around. There are shops and a walking path along the water. We included a trip to Safeway in our walk around the town. What a selection they had. Just like home with a few different brands. Fresh veggies and fruit!! We have to be careful what we buy since we will be going back into the states tomorrow.

It is amazing, how it is after 10pm and it is still daylight. We will be having shorter and shorter nights. We have been going to bed during the daylight hours for a while now...

Our plan has been to get as far north as we safely can and then meander back. Since the weather has been so great we are running with it because I’m sure we will have weather layovers days later.

If weather is calm tomorrow in Dixon Entrance, we will be able to leave and enter Foggy Bay Alaska tomorrow and then Ketchikan. Cross your fingers for calm seas or if not we get to be tourist in Prince Rupert and laundry day!!!!
