Fury Cove to Bella Bella, BC (303 miles north from our marina in Anacortes, WA (as the crow fly’s)
Weather has been on our side so we decided to head to Bella Bella for fuel and water which is another long day. (50.3nm – took us 10 hours)
So we lifted anchor at 6:30am and arrived in Bella Bella at 3:45.
What a great time we are having with Don and Diane. We have been pushing pretty hard to get to Alaska since the weather has been so nice. However, there is a front coming through with gale force winds 35-45mph predicted for tomorrow afternoon in the area we were going to travel, so we decided to spend tomorrow night in Shearwater Marina, safely tied up to the dock.
Tonight, while typing this journal, John softly said “Daleen, there is an eagle landing on the railing alongside our boat. While John was quietly reaching for the camera and the eagle was checking out the Omega, I saw his wingspan stretch across the side of our cockpit as he slowly took flight.
Yes, Peggy, our niece, who studied the bald eagles, would be proud to see the wonderful comeback of these majestic birds.
