Day 30 June 20, 2008
Since leaving Petersburg, we have seen the most beautiful snow capped mountains and anchorages, mighty humpback whales and swift dall’s porpoise along Frederick Sound.
We (Omega, Saoirse and Code Blue) enjoyed delicious Dungeness crab and shrimp and salads aboard Code Blue along with many delicious get togethers aboard Saoirse and Omega.
But nothing could compare to the adventure we had today. We covered around 43 miles, approx 20 miles one way inside Tracy Arm to the Sawy
er Glaciers. 
I believe it has been our “Best Day” since we left our homeport of Anacortes, Wa (traveling over 1000 miles north)
Tracy Arm, a beautiful fiord, has deep water and impressive vertical granite walls. It is breathtaking and it is so beautiful it makes you want to cry…. Gorgeous glacier peaks of up to 5,000 feet flank Tracy Arm with u-shaped valley that run between the rid
ges. The icebergs are also breaktaking. They are a combination of white, clear and the most beautiful color of blue. When the sun is shining they appear whiter with a blue tint. When it is cloudy they are the deepest blue you will ever see....

(very small pieces of ice). Winding our way cautiously as we neared the glacie
rs, our speed was reduced to a slow crawl, picking our way through the maze of ice fields. We took turns on bow watch trying to pick out the clearest route. When y
ou thought you couldn’t go any further due to the ice, you would turn and it would open up for you to continue closer to the Glaciers. Code Blue took the lead in and circ

Island, which is at the junction of North and South Sawyer Glaciers, John, in the Omega, led the way back to our anchorage in Tr
acy Arm Cove after we had a chance to explore and take a few pictures. As we neared the glaciers, there were many groups of mama seals and their pups on the small icebergs. Spectacular and truly amazing…We had 2 days of beautiful blue skies to cruise Tracy A
rm and the surrounding areas. We were on Code Blue last night and Steve fixed us delicious water served with glacier ice to toast our arrival to Tracy Arm.
Upon arriving at Tracy Arm we saw that John's ski friends Glen, Liz and their daughter Nicole's boat was anchored in the harbor. They returned later from their trip in their dinghy to Endicott Arm also in Holkham Bay to North Dawes Glacier. They said it was beautiful and Fords Terror was also spectacular. Nice to see them again...
The weather continues to be wonderful with light or no rains during the days of travel and when we anchor it seems to continue to bring Diane’s sunshine along with beautiful days of sunshine or high clouds.
Our son Troy and his friend Michelle, left for Thailand June 18 until Sept to help with relief for the cyclone victims. Please keep them in your thoughts and prayers.
