Yes, we woke up to early morning dense fog. We lifted our anchor at 9am with fog appearing to lift. Well, it hadn’t lifted as much as Diane and I would have liked but we made it. The sun continues to try to show itself but we are going in and out patches of light and heavy fog.
Lee and Rosey had emailed that they had visited over 20 anchorages in this area and had been having early morning fog and blue skies in the afternoon. They were headed south for more sunshine since at that time the rains had started. The forecast have been good but there is suppose to be more wind in the next few days. Cross your fingers. We want to cross Cape Caution before the wind.
I fixed some halibut salad for John and I underway and we will have some for appetizers this evening with our salad.
The day has turned out gorgeous with 75 degrees, blue skies and no wind. Not good for a sailor but we welcome the warm weather.
We arrived in Bella Bella around 2:45 today under blue skies with the kids jumpin
g in the water from the high fuel dock. (water temp is 55-60 degrees) Everyone is out with the great weather. There are many St John Harbour boats tied up to the pier since the fog has been so heavy they couldn’t fly their customers out so they had to shuttle them in with around 10 boats and then shuttle them back again this evening.
We enjoy Bella Bella. The people are very friendly. It isn't a marina but it is a dock to get fuel water and a do
ck to tie to while you go the the fully stocked grocery store. Prices are higher but they are in the middle of the islands and have to ship anything in. The fuel dock was closed by the time we finished our errands and spent the night on the dock. Everyone was out of ice except for the pub. John and Don walked to the pub for ice while Daleen and Diane visited in the 85 degree Omega. Wow what a temp shock...
