Saoirse slipped lines with Omega around 6:45am and we lifted anchor around 7am to begin one of our longest days (9-10 hours). We plan on traveling 60 miles today and anchor in Annie’s Pocket (Baranof Island). That will put us 3 miles from Sergius Narrows which is a major obstacle and needs to be traveled through at high slack, then on to Sitka, AK. We can sleep in.. Yeah!!!

Just before we passed Appleton Cove along Peril Strait, John spotted some Humpback whales, breaching and tail flapping. There were two in this one spot that must have tail flapped over 30 times and seemed to be having so much fun!! Time after time!! It was great to watch. Pictures only in our memory. It appeared we were escorted through Peril strait with sightings of hu
mpacks off and on. Beautiful country!Arriving in Annie’s pocket, a small cove just 3 miles north of Sergius Narrows, we anchored for the night.
