Day 60 July 20th, 2008
We had a smooth ride from Sitka to Appleton Cove along Peril Strait. Current was with us and the day was enjoyable. Omega entered Appleton Cove, dropped anchor and called Saoirse to announce we were ready from them to come alongside to raft. At the same time I turned around to look at Saoirse, Don announced there was a Grizzly (Brown Bear) right in front of hi
m of the old pier at the entrance to the bay where we were anchored in and I agreed, yes, he was right there in front of them on the shore. How exciting to see our 2nd brown bear! We ended up seeing 4 brown bear, 2 deer, many eagles and seals in Appleton Cove. A very wildlife kind of anchorage. 
It is a beautiful big cove with lots of room for everyone. There were at least 4-5 other boats in the different areas…. Which is uncommon, we are usually by ourselves.
