We left Prince Rupert under foggy skies, sometimes thicker than other times but usually a one mile visibility which soon lifted and we had a smooth cruise to Watts Narrows into Baker Inlet.I have one thing to say.. Go thru Watts Narrows at slack. We went an hour early and we made it fine but at times Omega was going a little sideways with the current. Slack Slack Slack
How beautiful Baker Inlet was. We saw Black Bear on the shore at low tide and when we first arrived we saw a pair of Bald Eagles. Very exciting trip. We had a rain squall come through in the evening with a little wind but we were tucked in for the night. After the rainfall the mountains above us were alive with waterfalls. Just beautiful country.
We exited at Slack the next morning and it was a piece of cake!!
We continued south only 21 miles to Klewnuggit Inlet and anchored at the head of the inlet. Another spectacular anchorage with snowcapped mountains all around us. You could hear the streams running near the waterline in both anchorages.
We then decided to see if we could see bears near Verney Falls, Nettle Basin in Lowe Inlet. Gosh another beautiful spot with sunny skies and just lovely. There were many salmon swimming in the water below the falls. No bears yet but we really didn't want to leave. It is a beautiful, peaceful and relaxing area.
So to sum it up: We are wandering south and have seen Bears, Eagles and a pair of Eagles, lots of different types of birds, ducks and many salmon swarming the water below Verney falls in Lowe Inlet to get upstream to spawn.
