Juneau

July 26 - After arriving in Juneau under cloudy skies with lifting fog, we originally moored the boat in Harris Harbor.  The next morning we found out the electricity was private and had to move Omega next door to Aurora Harbor.  Under very rainy skies we moved Omega and by the time we had her tied down and hooked up we both were drenched to the bone, even in our rain coats, or at least we felt like it by the end of the day after running errands.  The rain was ruthless and never stopped for the entire day.

We were so excited to be in Juneau and to be able to see our friends Cliff, Lori and their 2 adorable cats Buddy & Gracie.  We have enjoyed many funfilled times together & catching up.  What fun it is being a tourist in Juneau and seeing a town we always enjoy coming back to.  The last couple days have been much drier and nicer to walk around Juneau.

Today we went to the top on Mt Roberts Tramway and visited the resident eagle Lady Baltimore who was found shot in the beak and her left wing on Juneau's Douglas Island in 2006.  She is not releasable and she spends her summer months on Mt. Roberts educating the public on wildlife and spends her winters off the mountain.  It was a good day spent with John and friends...

We are enjoying this time with friends and are regrouping and plan on leaving Aurora Harbor in Juneau Monday morning.
