Aug 2, we arrived at Cathy’s brother’s home, our nephew and niece, John and Becky Moseley in Jacksonville, Florida.
John and Becky took us to the most amazing place. It is called Catty Shack Ranch Wildlife Sanctuary.
Amazing and beautiful tigers, lions more. Their current residents include tigers, lions, pumas, leopards, lynx, foxes, and coatimundis (the last two species being "honorary cats")
We took the tour of the beautiful animals and then at 7:30pm we were invited to watch them get their evening feeding. 80% chicken 20% beef 6 evenings a week.
Last night was chicken. Each tiger gets approx 20 lbs of meat and they use 500 lbs of meat each feeding. It was an amazing evening.

Again, John’s nieces and nephews are a joy to be around and always so welcoming. They all love their Uncle Jack (alot of John’s in his family so his family calls him Uncle Jack) and they have welcomed me also. I do love getting together with all of them. They are alot of fun and very interesting to talk to.
We enjoyed a few dips in the pool either first thing in the morning, middle of the afternoon or in the evening. It always felt wonderful.
The weather is hot and humid and the pool felt wonderful. It did cool off a bit but humidity is still with us. ugh…..:-( Their salt water pool feels wonderful and so relaxing.

John and Becky took us to this cool movie theatre Sun-Ray to see the movie "Maiden". It was a documentary of Tracy Edwards is a British sailor. In 1989 she skippered the first all-female crew in the Whitbread Round the World Yacht Race. It was a very good. Before the show we had drinks and appetizers at the River and Post Rooftop Lounge which is overlooking downtown Jacksonville, Florida that offers a view straight down the gorgeous St. Johns River and more. Beautiful...
On another day they drove us to Neptune Beach on a beautiful evening. Before the beach we had a delicious Fish dinner at Sliders Oyster Bar. I had never had Trigger Fish. Oh My Goodness It was delicious.
It was a another wonderful evening. There was a beautiful rainbow in the sky.
It felt so good to put our toes in the sand. I understand the surf but I almost landed on my bottom one time when the waves came in further than I anticipated and I had turned around to face the shore. "Big Mistake" I just laughed but was glad I stayed on two feet with the added help from Jack and John.
John and Becky are gracious host and hostess and showed us a wonderful time in Florida. It is always hard to move on but alas it is almost that time.
