Desolation Sound

Upon leaving Octopus Islands and going thru Hole in the Wall, a set of Rapids, we stopped to fish, not having any luck, we continued on toward Toba Wilderness, a marina.  As we were heading around the North side of Raza Island, we heard a radio call for Omega from Helen Marie, Lee & Rosey.  They happen to be on the South Side of Raza and we agreed to meet at the top of Raza Island.  How amazing to find them in such a large area of water & islands.  Very exciting.  We met, fished some more along the way, dropped our prawn traps and tied to the new docks at Toba Wilderness for the night. Celebrated meeting our friends and having them back on the water.  Kyle, owner of Wilderness Marina, has put up a beautiful wood veranda at the top of the dock and has new concrete docks installed just this year.  Very nice.   It was a gorgeous day with blue skies and calm seas.

We spent time in Prideaux Haven, Squirrel Cove, Refuge Cove and Pendrell Sound in Lagoon Cove over the week.  Not to be confused with Lagoon Cove in the Broughton's.  The weather for the last 10 days has been lovely.  Blue skies, calm seas with bright sunshine.  However, where there are trees, there must be rain and it started 2 days ago with fury.  They call it a rain forest for a reason.  I do believe when we were in Pendrell Sound, it rained night.  John woke at 6am and looked at Beta, our dinghy and it was almost full of rain water.  We were warm and dry in Omega and lucky to have the furnace to help dry out the inside.
