June 21 We decided to explore the Broken groups and check out the largest populated area in Barkley Sound while Jim stayed in Bamfield to keep communication open with Mary. She plans on arriving approx Sat or Sun June 23/24. Ucluelet, population 1800. Ucluelet Inlet is quite pretty. We decided to anchor in the inlet along with other boats and then dinghy into the marina & town to check it out and get some much needed exercise. There is a very nice Peoples Drug Mart and then down the street a few blocks is a Co-op Market with anything you would need. Very well stocked grocery store. Many small souvenior shops with local flare, Aquaium, Marine & Hardware store. There is also a gym, where you could go swimming, etc...
We checked into Ucluelet Small Craft Harbour Marina the next day to take care of laundry, showers and to charge our batteries... It is now Friday June 22 and we heard from Jim, that Mary arrived in Bamfield at 4pm, (a day or two ahead of what we thought). We plan on leaving the marina tomorrow and heading back to Bamfield.
Remember cell phones and internet are quite spotty and if you can't get ahold of us, just leave a message and we will check the email and phones when we are back in range....
