Port Harvey to Port Hardy, BC

Day 9 May 30th, 2008

We can’t believe this weather and decided to make time while the getting is good.
We left Port Harvey at 5:45am and caught the current for a couple hours and arrived in Port Hardy, BC around 3pm. The water is a mill pond and have now decided, if weather is permitting in the morning, to head around Cape Caution and spend the night in Fury Cove. Weather reports this evening are promising with mill pond conditions in the Queen Charlotte Sound.

While fueling up at Port Hardy, I was amazed to see the juvenile bald eagles sitting on top of mast. You could hear them calling back and forth across the marina and everywhere you looked there was a juvenile or adult bald eagle. The juvenile does not have the white head and tail feathers until they are about 3 years old. I just couldn’t believe my ears and eyes. Such a sight….
